Hi everyone..and Merry Christmas!
Help! Have got a td5 gs 2001 auto and recently i sourced a new fuel pump (£60) after the original one was whinney and my disco was struggling to start so had a new one fitted and also fitted a new fuel filter and everthing seemed ok however after about a month im back to square one. The fuel pump is very noisey again and recently driving back up north my disco actually cut out on the motorway but luckily i was on the inside lane and just coasted into a layby and again it struggled to start so had to pump the pedal and it started and i had to limp home.Maybe the fuel pump was too 'cheap'? Have been told to pay at least £200 for a new and original one. When it cut out on the motorway i had my young daughter in the back and don't want to go through that again.

I think what you have been told maybe true unfortunately.
Heard of a few people having problems with cheapo pumps not lasting long.
That said a month seams to short.
