Disco 2 Td5 Fuel pressure regulator pipe help

I set out to replace my regulator today with a repair kit i ordered off ebay.the new fpr has a small vac size pipe takeoff.Well my old one has a hole where this takeoff would be and in the engine bay there is no pipe.after a bit of routing around i found what looks like an inline fuel filter type thing attached to a small box where the egr bung goes onto.Is this where it should go to?
If not where does it go?

nowhere, some other vehicles are using the same kind of regulator managed with vacuum on that port, not the case of D2, consider it a hole like on the old one and rest your mind

Brilliant.Thank you very much.so what is that inline filter thing for then?

that filter is from the EGR modulator's vent port, it's an air filter and one side is free

Still sodding leaking! Been driving today and couldnt smell diesel or see a leak when finished so thought all was good.however iv just had a look underneath and seems to be more wet now than before! Il have a look when its light tomorrow.

that's cos it's possible that the FPR's body was cracked, that's why in this area the best is a new genuine one which will last at least 10 years

I think at least 50% of attempted repairs end in leaking again. Just replace it!
