TD5 front axle onto a 300tdi?

Hi, Will a TD5 front axle fit onto my 300tdi?

I say this because I need new swivel balls and was thinking if it would be better fitting the whole front axle from a TD5?

Whats your views?

I think the mounts for radius arms and shocks are different, it's doable, but its a lot of work.

Why would you want to do that?

I know of a 1985 defender 110 with a Td5 front axle.

Yes they are. I fitted spring spacers to a TD5 discovery and the guy had bought 300tdi ones that I had to trim to fit.

My mate has a TD5 that he is breaking. Was just a thought that if it was an easy bolt on to fit then I would of swapped them over.

Looks like I will be using new swivel balls £££££££££££

You can replace both swivel balls and bearings on a 300 tdi axle for about the same price as one complete td5 hub bearing assembly.

Td5 Defender front axle is same as 300tdi defender/disco basically, only different hub bearings etc.

It's td5 disco where **** gets interesting!!
