TD5 engine cuts off to idle speed

My TD5 1999 engine was running fine but then it suddenly just lost revs & would only run on idle with no response from throttle input. I had to disconnect battery -ve lead & ECU block connectors, wait a few minutes reconnect & then it would run fine for a few miles & do exactly the same again. A mechanic diagnosed the airflow meter & renewed it. After about 8 hours use, the problem has now returned. Any ideas anyone?

Classic throttle position sensor failure/signal lost symptom ... usually the MIL warning is on aswell

Check the plug/wiring first and if no joy u need a new one(it comes together with the pedal) ... this one >

i also had this problem just now, the mil light was on, also the s and m light was on second after the mil, i clean and tightened the Contacts in the tps conector, so far tow day's runing fine, hope just this was the problem.
