Hello everybody just got back from a 10 year break from landys but I guess I missed it too much and the right model came up.

So.. I have a 2005 td5 130 and I ordered the cruise control loom from empire tuning.
Installation went smoothly but it doesn’t work. It turns out I get no 12v+ on pin 10/15

Is there anyway a previous owner has disabled the pins in the ecu or how do I go about and check if the ecu has been tampered with. Can any LR workshop reset the software in the ecu to stock?

I’m sorry - I know very little of ecu’s and how they work.

Thanks

You'll most likely have to send the ECU to a company who repair them.
lt's not something you can start repairing yourself, l doubt a previous owner would have disabled the 12v on those pins though, why would they do that? And l am not sure how you'd actually go about doing it anyway.

l had a similar cruise control on my 2005 110 and it worked fine. lt could be that the ECU in yours is a repurposed Discovery one, the manual ECU definitely works with cruise (l had one) but if it's an repurposed Discovery auto ECU that might be the problem.

I got it working!

Thanks for your time lightning but the cause was myself. I had missed the part in the instructions that said to supply 12v+ to the ecu whereas I thought the ecu would supply current for the set signal.

🤦‍♂️

thanks

Glad you got it working. Cruise is great on the Defender on long journeys.

Yes the cruise harness has to have a 12v feed.

How easy a job is this to install and would I be able to have the existing mapped afterwards or before?

The remap makes no difference to operation of the cruise control except that it gains speed faster when you press the "resume" button!
