Hi all,

Would a TD5 out of a defender fit into a disco II and would all the aux bits n pieces fit + gearbox

cheers for any help
paul

Cheers for the reply, I've got the D2 with buggered engine.

Richard, when you say all the ancillary bits to go with auxilliary bits what do you mean

cheers paul

Id be interested in re kindling this thread.
Im starting a conversion of a td5 from a D2 into a D90 presently with a 2.5NA.
2.5NA runs well for now but she will need a new heart sometime.
Anyone else done this or similar? I know the engine mounts and LT77 will have to change but anything else i havent thought of?
ECU issues..?ECU is from the D2 and have the whole red harness.
Just to make it more exciting doing this in Seattle USA!

Im planning the same...ish, v8 to td5 and gearbox from a disco2. Ive seen it done :)

One thing you need to sort....the disco ecu needs an immobilizer signal from the body module. 3 ways I know to overcome this.
1 - Get a new ecu
2 - Send your ecu to a guy on ebay and he'll remove that bit.
3 - Rover, Landrover MEMS ECU immobiliser emulator

Ive got the immobiliser emulator here but not tried it yet. was going to wire it up to the disco and see it working before I take the engine out
