lads got a turbo whistle coming from drivers side sounds like behind dash ???? def turbo related any ideas ??? hoping its dry tomorrow so i can get under bonnet
Definitely turbo related, as it goes up and down with engine speed? This may sound silly but the alternator can affect electronic items, especially parts of the stereo system. I've had it on mine and as it's a V8 it definitely wasn't the turbo ;-) Coincidentally my alternator recently failed so I assume the suppression was the first thing to go. I'm not saying that this is the same as yours, but it may be worth considering.
Mine was a whistle, not the ticking you would get from the ignition system, you could hear it with the stereo off but not when music was playing. I think it is caused by the alternator creating RF interference as it begins to fail.
make sure there's not a boost leak at the hose between the intercooler and the inlet manifold, especially if it's de-EGR'd
the man insisted that the sound is from the RH side
