Are all after market crank sensors no good or has anyone found any they can recommend. I know most recommend just using genuine but how can they justify the price difference, £25 aftermarket - £207:00 genuine. I do normally prefer to use genuine or OE parts but such an expensive price for such a simple piece of kit just seams a total rip off, any thoughts?

I think this might be one of those cases where it's always better to go genuine, regardless of the price (almost!) ... especially given how important that particular sensor is.

Maybe they changed the manufacturer, i'm also the sustainer of Genuine LR sensors but seing how expensive it is for somebody who is tight on money i'd say that the only maybe reliable substitute would be the Lucas OE one https://www.lrdirect.com/NSC100790-supplied-by-BRITPART-branded-LUCAS.html (at least it has 2 years warranty)...it has an OEM(aftermarket) version too under SEB355 p/n, what ever you do avoid allmakes, britpart, bearmach or other cheap aftermarkets

Jesus they have gone up in price! Last two genuine ones I bought where £55 off ebay brand new.

Part number is nsc100790 if that helps

Yes , Britpart - 2 year warranty £21:58, LR genuine - 1 year warranty £223:10.

Yes, Britpart 2 year warranty £21 , LR genuine 1 year warranty £223:00

LR gives only 1 year warranty for any replacement part, it's theyr's policy, that doesnt mean that the britpart with the 2 years warranty is better cos even if it lasts 2 years the readings might be not good and as long as it's reading within some limits you can't claim on it but the engine will run like sh*t ... they also rely on the buyers cos too few would pay postage on that cheap part to send it back for a refund

Intermotor (£28) were certainly a premium brand once over, they used to do all the points and condensers in everything pre-electronic ignition.

I'm just struggling to get over genuine being nine / ten times the price of other manufacturers ;-(

Anyone have a final view on the following makes
  • Intermotor
  • Lucas
  • HAAS

for the CPS?

Same same or one better than the other?
