TD5 clutch/Gearbox

I recently had the clutch done on my 110 td5 but it just started making a noise, mainly when you reverse and its at the biting point, anyone have any ideas?

Is it a whining noice when you start backing up? Does it go away after the transmission gets warmer?

more of a drone, mainly when reversing but does happen going forwards as well in 1st gear. It does seem to disapear when warm, only appears when cold or been stood for a little while. Also seems a lot of slack in what ever lever moves when you dip the clutch as you can hear it sort of clang

It may be the thrust bearing? I have that noise too in cold weather. The first 20-30 meters of driving Not pleasant, but my local independent LR mechanic said I needn't touch it now..

I'm hoping thats what it is but ti was recently changed when it was done only a couple of months ago. Will order another and go from there. Any other suggestions on what it could be?

Just my own experience, but I got rid of a lot of noise like that when I changed my clutch around a year ago. The main culprit seemed to be the dual mass flywheel. I had thought the release bearing and the bronze bush where the gearbox shaft goes into the back of the crankshaft were the most likely suspects, but both appeared to be as good as new, even after 100,000 miles. The dual mass flywheel however had become very loose and rattly, The new one was much tighter. I'm glad I got a new one.

Did you get a new DMF at the same time as the clutch? The fact that there's a mechanical clatter as well as groans and moans suggests it's getting a bit loose.
