Hi all, my belt came off last week for no apparent reason. Since renewing the alternator a month or so ago the belt has been noisey, so I got a new tensioner, belt and idler pulley (all genuine LR). Fitted it all today and there is a fair overhang on the fan pully (will upload a pic). It seems that the alternator is sitting further out than it should be. Is there any adjustment possible with this? It doesn't look like there is.

I'm wondering if there are other alternators with the same fitting etc for other landrovers where the pulley sits further forward, and I have been sent the wrong one.

lr-trade-parts-uk on eBay. They’ve been very good in the past, I have one of their alternators on the disco. The old alternator lines up perfectly, can only assume the mounts have been done slightly differently or as you say a slightly different pulley.
