Hi Guys,
Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this. I'm unsure if the alternator has a clutch pulley (I don't think it does, so this kinda rules this out).
I changed the tensioner because the old one was kaput! I put the new one on, started it up and it's shaking backwards and forwards about an inch. The belt seems to be slapping itself onto the crank pulley quite a bit.
I checked the pulleys for play, the belt is in the correct position on all the pulleys (belt is only about 6 months old too). There doesn't appear to be any play in any of the bearings, so I'm wondering what the hell is causing this slapping.
(I don't have the viscous fan on either, but that shouldn't cause an issue)
Any ideas?
