Thought I'd add my experiences as I have just come back from a main dealer who has run diagnoses on my 105k 1999 TD5. It took well over an hour but only cost £53 and as well as the suspension included a full vehicle inspection. They also changed the setting to all-door unlocking with one push for free!
If it goes down equally on both sides this can still mean a leak in only one bag. The SLS is supposed to keep it level and especially if you are moving around inside. If it doesn't go down on both sides it maybe a valve problem.
I'm surprised this happens when the ignition is off & key is out though.
The only way to find out which bag it is is with soapy water as previously described. Testbook does not tell you.
When raised to off-road height and parked it seems to stay up considerably longer. This may be due to the bag sides being straight rather than curved, reducing hole size - but surely the pressure is higher?
I was quoted £283.18 to supply/fit one bag but no reduction for both. Time estimate 0.6 hrs. Paddocks do one for approx £80 inc vat so fitting is at £275 exc vat per hour! From previous posts some people have done this themselves and there are some useful pointers. I don't fancy messing around with a pressurised system though so I'll find someone who can at a better price.
RAVE gives a good explanation of the system and repairs from 64-6 onward.
If it doesn't go down on you it isn't a Land Rover!
