Sorry Guys,
I know this has been requested before, but many of the links are dead.
I am finishing off a 2003(53plate) Freelander which had a heart transplant by my NON Mechanically minded nephews. - to the point.. half of the bolts were missing, gear linkage disconnected and the clutch pipe severed at the yellow/green valve and NOT unfastened!!!
Every single vaccum hose is off the vehicle and it still has it's EGR valve fitted - The EGR typically could have been used to funnel a road surface through it!!!
Anyway... a full diagram of the vac hoses would be really appreciated.
And yes.. I will be posting for loads of help / assistance on here.

Although it's not much... a 12yr old freelander..... there's an element of sentiment towards the car (as you will see from my intro posting)

Thanks in Advance.

Guys... stupid question, but on a 2003/2004 TD4 - what generates the vacuum, and where does it connect?
I have found on the servo pipe a valve, but it loops back to itself...
I have NO vacuum according to the distructions and diagram :-(
(please read my into for further details relating to the bodging of this car)

Cheers,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

I hope it is still not too late. I have the same freelander and that loop does NOT exist.
The upper T junction in your photo (funny round thing) goes to the EGR solenoid (i have it blank as I do not use EGR) the lower T goes to the turbo solenoid.

Have you discover what is that round-funny-misterious Junction at the top of your picture? (the one that separates the main vacuum line and brake servo line)

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,
on a forum like this, it's never too late to offer information - if I have sorted it, someone else may have the same question.
however; The engine is still on the floor at the moment, and has a donor engine sat next to it waiting for the weather and the time to swap over the bits and bobs to get the newer lump ready to lift into position.
The loop on my picture..... all I can say is I haven't got a clue where it came from, but the kids that tried to replace the engine in the first place really goosed things up.
Thanks for the info... it is useful, I have an EGR Blank, so I know that I can run a pipe from the top "T" Valve to the blanking port on the EGR Mod. and now I know that I can connect the bottom plain "T" to the Turbo Solenoid..... (although while the engine is out, I'm replacing turbo bearings, seals and the actuator (or paying someone to do it properly at least)

Thanks,
Wayne

I'm glad to help.

Although I haven't solve my own problem yet. Apparently i have an opposite problem as everyone else. I have a huge delay (about 2-3s) from stop to power run... after this delay, everything works fine.

Basically if am in a stop position (foot on break pedal - as I have an Auto FL) and press gas... it takes 2 seconds to respond. Nothing related to the gear as this happens in any speed/gear. From zero throttle to gas... there is delay there... Anyone could give a help on that ???
Additional info:
Lump of white smoke during the first start of the day.
I can reach 90mph easy (a part from the delay)
New cyclone breather
Just MOT all good.
EGR original (but cleaned and deactivated) the problem was there before this mod
New vacuum hoses (a part from the one direct to the turbo)
New turbo hoses (no sign of leak) at least not clear sign.
ODBII shows NO error at all. I've 10k miles a year. car is 100k miles.

Any has a clue on that?

Cheers
Andy

Great diagram. How confident are you that its 100% correct as I have a couple of pipes that are attached differently?

Thanks

Was the 2 off the servo hose. I've actually replaced all of the vacuum pipes today as they are crumbly. Even the turbo actuator ones. Chasing a black smoke at higher rpm problem despite it running perfectly

Chasing a black smoke at higher rpm problem despite it running perfectly

Try cleaning the inlet manifold and inlet ports on the engine.
These clog up with oily goop and soot from the EGR system, which effects top end breathing, creating black smoke.
