Hi, after much deliberation I have just placed an order for my first ever Land Rover. I finally decided on the TD4 XS and this is what I asked the Salesman for, he said your in luck we have one built already to your spec so we placed the order.

When I got home and re-read my paperwork the specification is XS but the Engine is a TD4-e!!!

I went back and asked had he made a mistake as I wanted a TD4 XS 4x4 which he replied its the same??

I have looked at the 2012 pricing information that I used to choose the vehicle and the choices are, eD4 150HP 6 Speed Manual Front Wheel Drive / TD4 150HP 6 Speed Manual Four Wheel Drive / TD4 150HP 6 Speed Manual Auto Four Wheel Drive / SD4 190HP 6 Speed Auto Four Wheel Drive, there is no TD4e listed??

Comparing my order and the 2012 Tax Free Price list the base price I paid is for a TD4 XS (the eD4 is about £1000 cheaper)

Have I ordered the wrong vehicle??
I want a TD4 XS 4x4 Manual is this what I have ordered??

Help

"An improved, intelligent Stop/Start system is fitted to all eD4 and TD4 diesel manual models. This enhances fuel efficiency and reduces tailpipe emissions to zero, by shutting down the engine, in appropriate conditions, when the vehicle comes to a stop. The system can now operate at temperatures as low as 0°C and has a 30 percent quicker re-start time."

So I have bought a TD4 but an e version, if when I pick it up its an eD4 there'll be blood on the carpet (well when I speak to the salesman) : )

Funny enough I was out walking the Dog earlier and I saw a Freelander and the badge on the back was "TD4e GS" all the others I have seen (and there are lots around here) are "TD4 XS" / "TD4 GS" etc, not an e in sight so I assume these are earlier models not fitted with the Stop Start.

Thanks All

Don't know why they state this temp. I assume at lower temps they prefer to keep everything running.

The e version is a later addition. Part of the e Terrain Technologies project.

Mind if I ask, did you get a discount on the list price of a TD4 XS manual at £29,650 on the road price? (todays price on LR web site UK). Have been thinking about Freelander 2's for the future and had a test drive in one. Very nice but expensive. Seem to hold their value second hand too.
