Alright,
Before we start, i have done extensive searches on here and other forums trying to solve the problem with this blasted TD4, but nothing seems to have helped it.
So i will start from the beginning:
My girlfriends 2003 freelander TD4 started to develop rough running symptoms and then began to be a pain to start, cranking over for 2 or 3 minutes before firing. It then ran rough, but was drivable, and would kick out some greyish smoke on eventual start up.
After a week or som of these symptoms, it just refused to start.
Her dad, after reading various forums and books, phoning garages etc.. set about trying to solve the problem. Here is a list of what he has done so far:
Recon injectors (after he found number 2 to be leaking back)
New fuel pump in rear wheel arch
New MAF sensor
New fuel rail sensor and wiring (diagnostic machine picked up this fault)
Checked all boost and turbo pipes
And it still refuses to start. Before he fitted the new fuel rail sensor and wiring, it would still start, but ran like it was miss-firing.
Can anyone suggest anything else we could try??
It really is getting annoying now, as she has spent alot of money trying to get it fixed, but to no avail.
Thanks
