Trying to get the starter motor out - it is being a pig.
Cannot get the top bolt undone!
Can anyone enlighten me - is this top fixing a nut and bolt on the back - as per the lower fixing, or does the bolt tighten into a threaded hole.
Trying to remove from the top of the engine only without removing undertray and working from below!
Thanks.
Chris.

Did mine a few months ago, it was a tw*t to get out.

The top one on mine was just a bolt, accesed from the gear box side. It's a tight squeeze, Get your hand in between the gearbox and all the pipesand you shoulf feel it. I used a 6 inch exstension bar.

Thanks, I have found it, it is just stupidly tight!
Sheared off a 1/4" drive rachet trying to undo the top bolt, hence the thought that could be a nut behind it too....
Think it has started to round off as well..

Did mine few year ago - yes it's very tight. Make sure you get good quality sockets that fit well or it will round off and cause you a nightmare.

Mines the auto - and initially i undid the wrong bolt (must have been holding the gearbox on!), you can't see it but should be able to feel it with your hand. Remove the battery box gives good access. I recall I used a breaked bar and extension to shift it.
