Hello ,i have bitten the bullet again and last week i part exchanged my old discovery in against a td4 freelander 05 plate se model with 73000 on the clock. Three owners but it looks as if its been well looked after.
I owned an earlier model several years back and it was nothing but trouble ,but i thought id give it a try again with a newer model.
Ayway i bought it from a local garage with a good reputation and 3 months warranty. When i first had a test run ,it had been stood for quite a long while and quite a lot of blue smoke was emited from the exhaust.
The mechanic said it was because it had been stood for several weeks.
Anyway it soon cleared and was fine.
Long story short i bought the vehicle and haveonly put 60 miles on it after purchasing from the garage.
When i start up im getting blue smoke from the exhaust. It clears as soon as its emitted it runs smoothly on the road and no sighn of smoke if i rev it up.
If i leave it parked up for 3 or 4 hours and start up again im getting blue smoke again. Im taking it back to the garage in next cpl of days but it would be helpfull if i had some sort of info on what could be causing this.
I thank you for any help or tips you may have for me.
Regards.
