TD4 heater smells

Hi there guys - yet another newie just registered...

just bought an 02' Freelander TD4 and the heater is smelling v much like overheated / overflowing coolant - dies this sound like a heater matrix leak and if so is this a big job ??

also random TC and Hill descent amber warning lights come on if I turn sharp right - gremlins ????

Your views would be appreciated..

normally if ya matrix is leakin yer normally see damp patches, i seem to recall summit about ac, go into search ,same for tc un hd ,loose connection by h/brake or summit,again go into search ,lot written. . .

heater smell is a leaking matrix as ming says, pull off the big convoluted pipe from under the passenger side dash, if its leaking you'll see red stains in/on it and in the heater box, its a dash out job to replace but its not as difficult as you might think.

TC and HDC lights coming on round corners, hmmmmmmm, I reckon that the accelerometer may be knackered or out of calibration, it lives next to the hand brake lever under the center console, only way to find out for sure is to have T4 connected to the car and the faults read.
