Hi all, the heated windscreen on my TD4 HSE only demists/defrosts on the passenger side. I have checked the screen and it is not chipped or damaged. Any ideas what the cause is ..... Thanks

loose connection or fuse, think it might be fused separately left and right, could be a broken element in the screen
checked haynes manual, page 12.46 shows that it is indeed split into two circuits, and fused separately, both 30A fuses. Crucially, it just lists it as "fuseholder" with 3 fuses in it, but doesn't tell you where it is. Try the RAVE CD, it might be of some more help.
Good Luck
Have you sorted out your problem as I had the same problem but fixed it with a simple fuse change 30p. Let me know if you need any help!
I assume you got a TD4 like me but I think this fuse box is located all in the same place. The manual does show you where it is, admittedly i didnt see it at first. The heated screen runs off a separate fuse box located in the actual engine bay.
Best way to locate it is to describe where it is and what it looks like:
-Looking into the engine bay at the top right hand corner there is a black L shape box (above the battery).
-Hooked onto this L shape box there are two much smaller boxes they hook onto one another (maybe 2inchxinch if that).
-The one furthest from the L shape box is the supplementary fuse box, just flip open the lid without damaging the clip holding the boxes together cos you cant buy that part on its own.
-Think its a 30amp fuse (green). The front windscreen has a left and right, if you havent got the manual to explain which is which replace all green fuses.
This will do the trick. I know its long to explain but its easy when you know it. 5 second job. Any more questions ask!
No worries, as a general rule inside cabin fuse box is mostly for interior features or the major features.
Take care,
Ash
