Just for info, might help some bod,as I could'nt bloody well find out what I wanted to know.

The alternator on the wifes :)D) 2001 Td4 is a valeo YLE-102500, 14v-50/115A.

Could'nt find one anywhere at a reasonable price, and was'nt sure of the quality of some I found on e-blag,so I've got a local "auto-sparky" to rebuild it (new bearings, brushes & commutator etc...) for about £80 squids.

Should get it back tomorrow!

All done, fitted overhauled alternator, got everthing back together-and the fecker dint work :mad::mad::mad:

All in bit's again, back to guy,They had never tested it before letting me trog off with it,stuffed it in his face, stamped my feet, showed my teeth, got them to do it again (the commutor bit that the brushes touch was shorting  )

All done, back home, fitted it in the rain:rolleyes: and now working again for 66euros! Result :)
