When your turning it off and are turning the ignition back on a few times, your also priming the lowside fuel pump.

Although normally fuel pump issues flag 'lowside fuel pressure sensor plausability' dtcs.

I'm thinking possible LTB500052, as mentioned on the first page. Doesnt always flag dtc's.

Thanks Vissie for the info but Im even more confused now.

Whats LTB500052?

And where in my first post do I mention a ref towards this!

Regards

Update.

Not done any changes but now the cars idle is erratic and cuts out and fails to start. After a while it does start.

The rev counter goes high low high low and you can hear the engines idle erratically but you can go and start it a few hours later and its perfect but it goes tits up.

Doing misses head in, any ideas?

take the synergy off completely and check the connection beteween the connector and the fuel rail sensor...my synergy had a pin back out that i had to repair and caused these issues....

it'll give you the chance to check the pins on the sensor as they can green up over time giving a poor connection and a quick clean up with contact cleaner may be all it needs.......

As I said in my earlier posts sounds very much like the problem I had on my 05 Freelander earlier this year. Take a look at the plug on the end of the fuel rail.
I spent ages going round in circles changing LP pump, fuel filters, and 1 injector. Turned out to be the plug on the fuel rail. Cost me about £40 to fix and about 1 hour wiring in. Hasnt gone wrong sice.
good luck
Dave

Thanks guys.

Today its running sweet as a nut and no dought at sometime it will bugger up.

Will look at the plug first and then remove Synergy and if thats not the cause its sensor change time or worse a injector problem.

Ahhhh cars.

Took the plugs apart (fuel rail) and cleaned them up with cleaner.

When I first started the car you could see the rev counter move up and down a bit but now after the clean its steady as a rock.

Fingers crossed but time will tell.

Regards.

PS,

Synergy2 is turned on and acting normal.

I have just replaced the fuel pressure loom on my 55 plate TD4, due to erratic running, cutting out, lack of power, the lot. I had already tried cleaning plug and socket, worked for a while but symptoms soon returned especially in damp weather. So far it is running perfic,:).

Thanks, may get one from fleebay.

Ok update.

Cleaned the fuel rail plug up and so far revs are steady as a rock, not cut out and so far no problems at all.

So I presume the fuel rail sensor is ok but again I presume the loom feeding it is the fault.

Anyone with the code for a new loom and/or links to a replacement?

Regards and thanks all.

Puzzled!!!!!!

Reading the post HERE it mentions the harness and fuel rail sensor and reading this thread HERE it says to change the harness and sensor.

But....... if I visit topix it shows no bulletins for my freelander?

So does the harness need changing?

If it were me i'd use plenty of contact cleaner followed by some silicon spray and try to avoid chopping the loom. It should only be necessary to use the overlay harness if you can't clean it or the corrosion has caused damage.
