Hello,

Where to start? I have been told there is no power going to all 4 glow plugs is there anything a simple minded person like me can do? I have very little electronics experience could it be as simple as a fuse or relay.

Regards,
Ramblin Jason

Check the fuses first.
It's unlikely that all 4 power controllers have failed, but the plugs could have. Are you getting the glow plug light when the ignition is turned on?

thanks for replying when you put the key in the yellow coil light comes on and then goes off after a few seconds start up is a little lumpy and white smoke for 1 sec which should be gone now as the fuel injectors are being replaced

The way I understand the glow plug controller. If the glow light illuminates, the controller is working. So the plugs would be the most likely items to fail. You can get a resistance check on them done. It's as simple as measuring the plugs resistance with a multimeter. A good plug will measure about 1 Ohm.

ok cheers for the help nodge68, Ive got hold of a multimeter will i get a reading only when the car is using the glow plugs when you first turn the key or will you still get a reading even when the cars fully turned on?

You can still measure the glow plugs resistance all the time. You can also check the voltage supplied to the plugs. However that voltage will only be supplied briefly while the engine is cold.
