Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a Freelander 2 TD4 2.2 and noticed something unusual with the clutch pedal. When I release the pedal quickly in neutral, it doesn't spring back as quickly as I'm used to in other cars. It feels like there's a slight shudder or hesitation along its journey before it fully returns, although it does come back all the way.

The car drives fine otherwise - no issues with gear changes, and the clutch itself seems to perform well. I'm probably being a bit paranoid since the previous owner had the clutch replaced not long ago (with a full kit, CSC, water pump, etc.), so I'm just wondering if this kind of pedal behavior is normal for the TD4 or if it's something I should be concerned about.

I'm not a mechanic, so I'd appreciate any thoughts or similar experiences!

Cheers

Hi,

Only the hydraulic system is responsible for pedal to get back in place. The spring is only here a better feel on the pedal.

Any abnormal feel on the pedal, is related to the clutch system.

Does the problem was present when you but the car ? Yes it doesn't matter, but since you buy the car, a clutch fluid bleeding, or replacing the master cylinder can help.
