Hi everybody I come across this site more times than anything but I can’t fix my truck

I have a discovery 2 1999 auto changed the xyz switch
Changed the fuel pump
Changed the fuel pressure regulator
Checked the fuses no issue
Checked the fuel cut of switch no issue
Checked crank sensor and that is okay

When turning the ignition on there is no fuel pump noise but when pressing the pedal 5 time the pump will prime it self

so now I’m lost for words and I’m giving in slowly if anybody has any ideas please help me

Won't start or won't crank?

And DO check your battery is up to snuff AND that the blessed batt connectors are on properly. Oh and the earths.
SOOOOO many times this sort of thing is a batt that isn't quite up to it.

It will crank but no start
I’ve stuck a new battery on today the live and negative are on tight checked all the fuses and there alright
Even changed the xyz switch and still flashing D on the clocks

I switch the ignition on and the fuel pump doesn’t kick in but when pressed 5 times the pump will prime it’s self

when trying easy start the engine will run but when stop spraying the engine will cut out and the needles wont move while the easy start is being sprayed
I’ve tried sticking a live an negative to the fuel pump while I turn it over that didn’t work either

So it runs on Easystart?
And you can't get the pump to work?
Deffo looks like a fuel supply problem. For it to run on Easistart the rest of the system must be working mustn't it?
Maybe the one you put on the car when you changed it is fecked. Sometimes even new stuff doesn't work.
The fuel pipes can fracture and leak but if you cannot get the fuel pump to work even when jumping it, I'd look at replacing it or borrowing a known good one.
BUT, if the gear box thinks it isn't in either neutral or P then it won't start, but usually it won't crank at all. So although the D is flashing, that may not be the problem with the start. And, as you say, it'll start with Easystart.
Others more knowledgeable on electrickery will come on.

Found the problem the ecu was fried but now I’ve stuck a new ecu on an no it won’t rev so I’ve just bought a throttle peddle see if it works if it doesn’t it’s a bcu problem

It’s a brand new battery though it’s ticking over fine with no knocks or bangs go to press the accelerator and nothing happens no rev or anything someone said to me it might be the bcu

Even though the battery is new did you fully charge it?
Low volts will stop the ecu's working, I was chasing this fault for days then after lot's of checks with the engine running for about 30 min's it fixed itself as the volts came up.
What's voltage do you have on the battery?

I couldn’t tell you but now your saying this I might take the battery of and stick it on charge so it’s fully charged

Do you have the MIL (engine check light) lit. If yes then, TPS or crank position sensor are likely culprits.
How did you check the crank position sensor? Even if the sensor is working and the cable in good condition a fuzzy signal due to interference can be enough for the ECU to prevent start. Have you had a diagnostic check?

engine starts now just doesn’t rev it just idels you got to press the pedal an nothing happens

Hence my question about the MIL (Engine Check Light). On a manual there are only two sensors that will cause the MIL to come on, and one of them is the Throttle Position Sensor which could cause the symptoms you describe. If the MIL is not on, then the TPS is unlikely to be your problem.

as he said this
It’s just mad I’ve even bought a throttle pedal to see if it’s that and just did the same
I think you are right about the crank sensor, unless the MIL is not on.
