In the market for a landy again. Preferably a series. SWB, a 109 will be considered.
Pickup. With tilt preferred
Want it as a second / historic vehicle, so prior to 1985 please.
I now have space, garage and time.
My last Landy was a freelander LC55 RVU. Had series and defender too.
Hope this reaches the correct person with the vehicle for me.
Edit: Never had a lightweight! Always wanted one.

I have a 1978 series 3 109 pickup I've had since 2008 used as a logging vehicle. I have put hot dipped galvanised chassis, heavy duty springs, electronic ignition, and have a neighbour who loves pottering with historic vehicles who has done all work when needed. 26500 genuine milage which I have provenance for, It has 2.6 straight 6 petrol engine which is quite rare.
I am 81 years old and riddled with arthritis so have decided it's time to part company.

Sounds like a nice truck, maybe put a photo and say what price you're looking for.

It has a few scratches & dents, and floor and bulkhead has some rust. It comes with spare wheel and 2 spare rims which are sound but need work. This vehicle was not registered for first 8 years of its life as was a recovery vehicle for a local garage, which recorded 19,000 miles. Second owner bought it for his girlfriend as a run around in Eastbourne town and wondered why she refused to drive it. I had been looking for one to replace my 2a which needed a lot of work, and got it on an ebay auction. Carried an average of 25 tons of hardwood logs a winter for our 2 large wood burners. Now all electric, and has been used for favours for friends for 8 years. Was offered £6,500 for it 4years ago, so would be looking for offers over seven. It's a genuine motor, with some emissions pipework which I think was for the North American market.

Hi Selwyn,
Looks good, a 109 isn't my ideal vehicle, a SWB is.
However, as others have suggested it looks tidy, a few dents and a bit of rust are to be expected on a landy of this age, so I have no issues with that at all.
Where in the country are you? I would need to come and view. Another ideal, is not having to travel to Lands end, to view a vehicle, if you understand.
As I stand at present the price would need a bit of wiggle room. As I understand a straight 6 is quite a rarity on Landy's, should be no issues with engine with that type of mileage.
I very much look forward to your reply. I am pretty much available to come and view at anytime depending on travel distance, and the weather, as I will come on my bike which should fit in the back.

Hi Pompey
I live in Crowhurst, a village near Battle East Sussex, TN33 9DE, a long way from you.

I think I will leave this. Thanks all the same. Any person in the area and think a good deal, go for it. Tidy looking vehicle.
Edit: I posted on LZ because posters on here care about their vehicles. I am a little suspicious that an 81 year old decides to join LZ and only makes posts on this Fred. That is one tech savvy 81 year old.
Apolgies for any ageist comments, they are actually aimed at the amount of posts, and length of time being a member.
