Hi guys need some help asap,

just checking over the car an getting ready foe a long drive upto Liverpool on Monday for my custom exhaust an i pushed the button to undo the rear window an as it when down i heard a crack, then when pushing the button to do it back up only one side wanted to go up leaving the glass at a funny angle an the car made a quiet beep noise which ive never heard.

i opened up the back door card an had a look but its so late all i could do was unconnect the glass an just hold it up with some cardboard but i cant drive it like that an on Monday in off to Liverpool so need to sort it Saturday asap.

anyone got any ideas on what the problem maybe an how to fix it?

Sounds like the cable snapped. A temp would be a chock of wood to prop the window shut. While ordering a replacement would be the better option. Alternative is to find a scrappy that has any freelanders for you to rob. Or do you have an LR suppliers near to purchase a replacement.

My girl is just starting to look the part then that happened really ****ed me off last night an deflated me..

Oooooo the joys of a Freelander hey, gotta love em, she reminds me of the Mrs when shes ****ed off, allways costing money lol..

well pulled it all apart today in the light an it looks like the one wire has snapped an the little plastic bit near the coil thing, also the 2 metal parts that hold the window in place also look completely corroded... Just as she was starting to look nice so gonna order the full kit minus the motor an get that sorted at some point next week so fingers crossed she will be back to her pretty self by next week... An with a pretty fancy exhaust .

hi guys, ok put the new regulator in today an everything woeking fine but when doing the window up the lip at the end is going up the outside instead of into the window grid, any ideas why this might be? if i push slightly when closing the door it goes properly into the inside like it should but if i dont touch it it comes up the outside ..

what are window guides lol the black rails? or the white plastic things that hold the glass? lol forgive my stupidity mate

In the door behind the door card, wot the window slides in when it goes out of sight, the bottom of the guide wants pushing away from you before tightening the bolts, or the top wants pulling towards you befor tightening the top bolts/ clamps

you talking about the the white plastic things holding the glass an the little tightening bolts holding it?

With the trim removed, you will see two slotted screws with M8 nuts on the outside that secure the bottom of the guide rails to the door shell......do you remember poking the studs through when you refitted the regulator assembly ??.
Slacken, but don't remove the nuts and try adjusting them in & out to see which way the glass moves. The screws are "Jacking screws", after you have got the glass in the correct position, hold the screws in position to prevent them turning and nip up the M8 locknuts (No need to go overboard with the tightening torque !
*TIP* Count the number of turns made so that both screws are adjusted the same amount.
When the glass is raised, but not fully closed, there should be an equal gap at each side between the glass and the trim.
Also check that the latch striker plate is adjusted correctly, allowing the door to close against the seal.
