Tailgate Release Button Spring

Morning All,

My tailgate would not open, after exposing and removing the tailgate release button i've found the spring inside has rusted and snapped.


Does any body know where to get hold of the spring only. I've searched an can only find the whole button for £40. It's not the cost it's the principle.

I made one out of piano wire from the model aircraft shop.

I made mine out of an old wire coat hanger.
