You tell me what you wanna continue with?

If your such a good mechanic having worked on all sorts of cars then howcome you havent tackled the Jag steering rack yet?

Dont tell me you gonna pull the old zimmer frame ploy

Regarding finding my tone offensive.................HELLO!
If you think its offensive, then report it to the mods, we'll soon see who is in breech of forum rules, not to mention who is lacking in both forum and social etiquette.

. we can continue if yer like,

Like I said you were the first to propose a continuation of the 'whatever'

I have suggested the PM route as it detracts from the original posters thread.

, At full fan speed, on the blue and white sections of the dial, I suddenly got a whole lot of little finely gritty, white calcium deposit like, bits being sprayed out of the windscren vents. It lasted about half a minute and now there are no more coming out. As the fan is so noisy I never use it normally so I hope theese grit like deposits are just water reduced and condensed over a long time (we live in a hard water area)- if not - Do I have another problem?

At a loss in gascoigne

The white deposits are partially from the calcium carbonate directly from the water.

Also another cause is the heater resistor wires are held in place by white heat tolerant cement. These do tend to crumble and get blown out of the air vents when the fan is at position 4. Does the fan work on all other positions I, II, III

You my be on to something here, It just might be possible that the water hardness has caused some scaling on the internal of the heater matrix. The additives in the anti-freeze should help prevent this but if its very hard water then its possible. Could have led to blocked heater matrix, restricted passage of water and subsequent hotspots causing corrosion.

Again, its only a possibility, it could be cracked or the hoses not clamped tightly enough

Quick get the landing net we have a huge one on the hook ere

my disco 200 tdi footwell get soaked too and I am sure it is hole in the inner wing or the heater matrix has gone coolant levels drop slightly very slow althou recently when driving over a bridge at a flyover went over a bump in road and windscreen get dirty mist inside pretty sure it is matxtrix as well the inner wing have a hole too! any tips?

thanks for replying back to work tomorrow so will have a look at the inner wing tomorrow evening at my garage. I believe the heater matrix is a bugger to remove cos dash need to be removed can I use other car's matrix as alternative?

wow that looks good so that is what it looks like fab! does that extent to footwell?? mine has rotted and did a pop rivet patch job for now my mig gas bottle is emtpy so i have pop rivetted it but would like to replace the footwell possible?? it is steel or stainless steel? stainless would be best ie water proof hehe

Mad hat, i have taken the wing off and aerial too to my amazement it was electric one which was knackered so bought a rubber aerial 4.50 quids and then checked the inner wing it is fine. so took the plastic wing arch thing off and the seal in the footwell between the footwell and inner wing is rusted so sanded that off and did a patch job using carbody filler and sealed it with underseal all sorted! and thanks for the link for the inner wing panel from metal solutions 25 quids so when it is warmer april may I will remove the inner wing and cut out the rust part of footwell and put new steel and weld it all up. one question why did the landrover makers put steel should be stainless steel waterproof and rustproof!! makes our life lot easier eh?
