P38A Switch Illumination

Hey folks,

Whilst I’ve my dash in bits attempting (in vain) to sort the Hevac unit I thought I’d look at replacing a few bulbs which were out.

ive managed to do all of them but I’m struggling with this which is from a fog light switch.

Do any of you know if you can get these or do I just need to replace the switch ?

They do, but here's the sting:

Orange Bulb: £4.06, Green Bulb £20.01 !!

Rear fog lamp switch with 2x green bulbs: £12.61....

I may look around or buy a 'donor' switch !

Wow. Land Rover pricing up to the usual standard. I think I would be looking on the Bay!

Or Google the part number!

Island have the bulbs for 8.14 +VAT

maybe there’s a business opportunity in buying the switches for £10 and removing the two bulbs to flog fur £10 each !

Im a tight git,,,,And buy 286 bulbs of the bay ,wee bit of soldering jobs a good one,if i want color bit felt tip pen or fish tank type , hose pushed over the end you could use small led ones but uv got to get the pos nd neg the right way round..... they come in different colors.....

I've since found you can buy just the bulbs

there wee green ones on the bay 2x4.6d x5mm more you buy the cheaper they are ....free delivery

Marty converted all his to LED. They look good.

You can get LEDs that take the voltage both ways but not sure if you can get them that small.

I was told on here that leds are dimmable as well ,,led in theory will last longer , ,theres nowt worse than 2 days after screwing the dash back together one bulb goes out again.....like on the hevac....

We don’t mention the hevac....
Actually, that said, I’ve got it almost working perfectly except for the second digit on the RHS -not sure I can bring myself to open it all up again...
