Swapping from petrol to diesel

Hi,

Im thinking of swapping my 2.25 petrol for a diesel lump 2.25 2.5 or 200tdi if the funds will stretch.

I was just wondering if anyone who has done a similar thing could advise on the swap process ie parts i will need to change or make sure i get with the engine.

So far im thinking

Ignition switch, throttle linkages, additional wiring for glow plugs.

Id be grateful for any advise offered.

I did the 200tdi conversion and was very happy with it... you can get away without preheater on 200tdi, mine was never wired in. Look up glencoyne on the web for some tips.
Basically you need.. radiator, intercooler and frame, plan to move battery to under passenger seat. You will need to change exhaust at manifold. If you have a LWB fit a 300tdi turbo & manifold as the 200tdi turbo from a Disco hits the chassis rails. Mine was done in a hurry, budget about £1500 all inc for a garage fitting (well thats what it cost me!) as it's worth servicing the motor before you pop it in!
