Honestly if the vehicle has the orignal dampers, then why not change them and the air bags?
Cheers
In all honesty, I hadn’t given the other side any thought at this stage. Simply getting the vehicle operational again.Honestly if the vehicle has the orignal dampers, then why not change them and the air bags?

I’ve replaced one side on both of my L322’s as a quick failure repair without any adverse effect on ride performance. I think it depends if the old struts were replaced in pairs or not. They usually have a manufacturing sticker with a date so worth checking out. The most recent one I replaced had a 2005 sticker, same as manufacture year, but could have been a salvage replacement part in the past. There’s always a bit of guesswork with a second hand car even if it has a history file. I’d be inclined to enjoy Xmas and deal with the air bags later. In all honesty, I hadn’t given the other side any thought at this stage. Simply getting the vehicle operational again.
I’ll probably use the replacement of other side as entertainment over Christmas.

PS might want to shop around for the strut next time as £400+ seems a bit steep.
Don’t suppose any one knows of a decent source to download Rave. I can find the pre 2010 workshop manual but not the complete rave.
I’ve owned the car for 7 of its 11 years and bought it from Landrover so I guess it has its original struts.
As for the cost of the unit, I couldn’t find anything much cheaper for a 2010 - 2012 with variable damping.
Fair point, forgot yours is 2010, 11 years isn’t bad considering the weight of the car but if my 2005 strut was original that’s a decent 16 years and 154,000 miles life. That other bag of yours may have years left in it. Think of all the Christmas presents you can buy with £400.
Tricky.
Mine were the same. Heat if you can. If not loads of penetrating fluid and a lump hammer. There are freeze and penetrating sprays that can work well in some applications if your still struggling. Good luck.Hmmm these things are never straight forward. Strut to hub mounting bolts nuts are off, but the bottom refuses to move. even turn.
Any tricks to this one.
Oh joy. Slightly cautious of heat near the driveshaft boot. It’s had plenty of penetrating fluid, and the hub moves freely.Mine were the same. Heat if you can. Unfortunately, these watches were originally penned under BMW management not Audi. That may stir a reaction! Sorry but I’ve own several Audi’s, all superb machines.Just as I started to loose my farkin marbles it mysteriously just goes into position.
I tell there’s no bonkers engineering like this on my R8. It’s put together like a watch
