Not tried either approach yet so dunno!

To get the bush out, yes, I think it's easier to cut through the outer sleeve with a hack saw - BUT - you're going to be buggering around with sockets, studding etc when you put the new bush in.

That is exactly how I am planning on removing them as I have used that method before for other things (defender radius arms being the most common). But it is refitting the new ones that I need a method for, previously I have just refitted poly bushes on the 110 but I try to keep the series standard, so want the original bushes. The only way i have found for this is a very expensive bush puller or make your own version of the very expensive bush puller.

Go to the local boot sale armed with the measurments and buy an assortment of large sockets and box spanners to cut up.

I already have an assortment of large old sockets that are used as drifs, and pressing uj's in etc so I am hoping I will have one the right size. It is the suitable threaded bar and nuts i will need to source
