Supermarket veg oil prices

I was wondering if anyone would find it useful to have a thread, or similar, to list current prices of veg oil at their local supermarkets for other Landyzone members to browse?? Rather than try to find Biodiesel I've decided to do an in-tank mix of 50:50, DERV:Veg Oil.

If so, I've added some details from my roamings today. If not, it'll die a natural death. :eek:

Aldi & Lidl - 78ppl in 1L containers
Asda and Tesco - 78ppl in 1L containers, 74ppl in 3L containers

Also, with a £50 spend you get 5ppl off DERV at Tesco so a full tank of 50:50 will work out about 89ppl. If you use a cash-back credit card and collect Tesco points it gets down to about 86ppl.
 
It was only 49 - 56 ppl last summer, guess it's the amount they is selling now, and Mr Lidol an Mr Aldi as cotton'd on that we ain'cooking no chips wiv it eaver !!!

I do believe Muddy has a taste for, or possibly VAST experience of, the finer things in life! :p

Will the truffle oil less affect the sensibilities of the masses or is "Chip Shop" a calming influence?? I dunno, but with a face like mine I already have a problem with pulling pigs at the local discotheque...truffle oil I just don't need!! :eek:
 
I mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago that Costco had some specials on oil last month. 25l catering packs worked out at 58p per litre. Talking of truffle oil, the Filipo Berio truffle oil makes a fantastic salad dressing ;)
 
i just bought 21 litres of pura from tescos for 56p a litre.

there were 6 bottles on the shelf and i got them then asked a bloke (think he was the manager) if there was anymore and he came out with a crate of 15 bottles, and said if i want any more in large quantities, best to go to the customer service till and get them to order it in, so i dont keep clearing the shelf!

then when i got the the till to pay the girl seemed unsure, got a team leader over who said i was only allowed to buy 10 bottles! but i said the manager had ok'd it, so she let me have them!

moral of the story is, if u want to get large quantites of pura from tescos (56PPL!!!!!) best to order it in especially. i dont know if there is a limit on the amount you are allowed to order in.

I sent my missus to our local tescos and they had run out of the 56p pl pura oil.:mad:

Sounds like you might be right on ordering it in in advance.
 
Just had a top-up at Tesco tonight. Got the last 5 3L bottles of their cheap as fookin chips Veg Oil at £2.21 each or 74ppl. Wanted a little more, (like 15 litres more), but couldn't find me any.
Bum...I may try ordering it in if I can. Know someone at ASDA but they don't do 5ppl off DERV. :(

Y'know...you can go off some people before you even meet them!! :p

Ade...you're a Lancashire lad like myself so which Tesco was this at? All the outlets near me are looking at 74ppl for the Tesco branded stuff. Nothing cheaper.
