I'm back with yet another Hippo problem
Tried the sunroof today for the first time and have found a problem.
The tilt function works fine, will open and close smoothly without any noises, jerks or problems. However when the slide operation is started, the glass starts to move and when it is open approx. 4" or so it slows and stalls as though it is seized somewhere, Pressing the button to close the sunroof does so immediately...again, there are no noises or jerking movements. It seems as though the sunroof slides maybe need lubricating- can anyone advise on the correct lubricant and a "How to" or offer advice on what the cause may be.

:)

6 torx screws and the sunroof glass pops out if you want easy access to the runners.

As you sit in the car remove the plastic covers that run along each side ...take out the torx screws then the glass can be removed to give you better access to your rails.

Thanks Guys...appreciated.

Blowing a gale here today followed by showers so not a good time to remove the sunroof
I'll get it inside later this week and have a go. Just hope it's something simple like a bit of grease/oil.
Not looking to use the sunroof this side of summer...what summer you ask !!!
Probably not been used much because the car has aircon.
Will post the outcome after I have had a go at it. :)

do you have to take the roof lining off to get at it properly as mine does nothing , just blows fuse

Can it do a full cycle by turning the motor manually or does it jam up ?

:behindsofa:

I tried turning the motor slotted screw when I sat in the car whilst Er Indoors was shopping. I only had my Leatherman with me and I found the screw very tight to turn so I didn't push my luck any further in case I fecked something up which could have resulted in the sunroof stuck open ...Not a good idea with plenty of rain on the way !!

Keep the comments coming Guys.......:)
