Sunroof motor p38

I have put another sunroof motor in my p38 but it will not allow me to set it. It will set but the dash says the sunroof is open when it is not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

id like to know too mate.

Mine just whirrs & keeps saying not set, & upon exiting "sunroof open". has been like it since ive owned it, but was looking at a new motor in mine too.

how i did mine after replacing the left tilt mechanism, was,
make sure the sunroof is completely closed, remove sunroof motor, with motor removed(lowered away from cables) press the switch until motor stops, make sure motor will turn in both directions, when switch is operated to open it runs one way, to tilt it runs the other, centralize it if not, once centralized, refit. then go through the setting procedure
