Evening all,

How on earth are you meant to get washer pumps to work? I plug it into a 12v supply, have a pipe going into a bucket of water, the pump makes a wiring noise and nothing happens

I've got two of them and they both do the same, is there a trick to make them work?

They are these ones, eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

make sure you prime it by sucking the water through it whilst its running, and a non return valve is a must, cos it syphons itself over time. had to same with mine.

Looks like the one I've got - which works fine. Have you wired it up the right way round? Priming will help but I've never had to fit a non return valve...

I've give those things ago in the morning!

I've tried it both ways round on the wiring and i still get the same thing of the pump going with no water going through.

:5biagree:

Won't do anything if you don't prime it.

No idea what people are on about return valves though, not got one i don't think and mine work fine...

Got it working in the garage, now the can't get it working in the car using the same power supply? Tried priming it and the water flows into the pipe but doesnt come out the washer jets.

The washer jets are clear, i got water through them by blowing down the pipe and then i gave it a blast of compressed air to make sure.
