Not looking for a rescue, just some ideas before recovery arrives. Freelander 2, seemed to lose pressure at the clutch pedal then engine cut out when I stopped. Tried starting again, dash lights up when I press start button but doesn't turn over. HDC fault warning came up for a second when it first stopped, hasnt come back on since, seems battery is low but no warnings on. Could all this be due to battery?

The pressure seems ok now, but still not starting so cant really tell if it's back to normal. Strange it all happened at once
the pedal sticks down as they have a helper spring and if theres air in the system then theres not enough pressure coming back from the slave to push pedal back against the spring, poor seals in the master can cause this if not too bad a few pumps of the pedal will re-bleed it making it good again, doubt the faults are linked

Cheers James! I'll try charging the battery when I get back and go from there

Got it home and the battery is low (although the recovery driver said it wasn’t the battery) so charging to see if it’ll start. I’ll get a new battery though, it shouldn’t get that low for no reason and there was no charge fault light.
