I have a p38 range rover 1995 that is in low gears and when I go to neutral then high nothing happens except all the lights flash. Any ideas please?

High/low selector motor's are prone to sticking due to not being used that often.use the search facility,top right of page someone else had the same problem not so long ago.

Believe you can remove the motor and manually move it back to high range. Just need to be careful when replacing new motor you get it in correct position

You can, once the motor is removed the triangular shaft can be turned to select high,but it can also select neutral.

I've a spare transfer box in the garage,I'll check it out later to see which position select's what.I'm learning. Got that info on here

Just checked and with the selector motor removed if you turn the triangular shaft anticlockwise this will engage high ratio in the transfer box.you will have to jack up the axles so one wheel turns on each this will allow the gear to engage., make sure you use axle stands and mark the position of the motor before it's removed.fully clockwise is low and neutral halfway between the two.I'm learning. Got that info on here

Could have done but I have 1 stub left that needs to come out before new dentures can be made. He needed to check on me because of my ticker faults Any way booked in for my last ever extraction then new teethYou should have posted them through his letterbox last night and had a lie in.
