 **** not good then m8 i hear you bumped into a good m8 of mine (dixie)
fancy that hey .. how did you get on after ? got home ok or did ya get it fixed ..
Just been having a read through as Strata is almost in my back garden (hour and a half a way).
Myself and a few others from the Discovery Owners club were up there last Sunday having started up Nant y Moch and worked our way round to Strata.
One thing worth noting is the bomb hole is now marked as not part of the route!
Tread Lightly have been through the route with marker poles indicating where the correct route is, all in all very good, having markers at the main spots where the idiots have driven off the route into and out of the river etc, but as above, they have marked to top track past the bomb hole as the correct route!
Unfortunately there was evidence of idiots ignoring the signs the day we were there, unfortunately we didn't see them, but we did have a load of quads and mbikes riding on the forest track and generally ignoring where they should be, additionally there were lots of them on non road legal bikes/quads as well as kids riding mini quads!
I did have a bit of a pop at one dad who's son we had to winch out a puddle as he had stalled his quad, I pointed out to the dad that what they were doing was illegal due to no licence, tax, insurance etc, all he could say was "well what can I say??"
Nant y moch was good but the washouts are getting huge!
Yes small world innit. Top bloke too.
Finally got home about 4pm and the truck shortly after.
So now starts the job of sorting out the trouble.
But imagine patrols like the motorway wombles on greenlanes with signs like 'Please slow down, uneven surfaces ahead'.
