Strata Florida on Monday 21st Feb

Well it seems I have found a day off on Monday so going to take a trip to Strata Florida.

If anyone else finds themselves in the same position then more than welcome to tag along.

I know it might be awkward being a Monday but if you don't ask you don't know, do ya.

It's safe to say also that will be a child friendly zone seeing at it's half term for most.

Departure will be about 8am from Coventry so hopefully arrival at 10am ish.

Try not to fall in to any deep holes as i wont be there to pull you out

Cheers Rik. Are there any big holes that are likely to cause me any grief?

That's o.k, I have seen lots of youtube video of the infamous bombhole.

So fingers crossed it'll be areet.

You can drive around the bombhole if you don't want to do it, it's the 3 foot deep river you can't drive round lol

Is that depending on the time of year and rainfall then, erm best search wetsuits on ebay then.

Yeah but it's usualy not that deep but can be, obviously this time of year it's quite wet but Ive been up there when it's lashing it down and it's only been about a foot deep. It's advisable to have a snorkel but we've done it in a standard disco without any probs.

Well I don't have a snorkel, but my air intake is above the radiator so that's about three foot.

I think we'll be alright, or we'll turn back.

In view of the present weather conditions and there being currently two vehicles (one an utterly useless TD5 Disco) the decision has been made to change to Happy Valley tomorrow and save the joys of Strata for the March 12/13th trip.

Possibly both. Definately starting at Crossgates cafe on the Saturday Morning then doing Strata and working up towards Happy Valley. Then maybe a backwards trip down to Strata on the Sunday.

we will be on strata sat afternoon then camping at the abbey end of it on the sat night

you'll be ok as we've had sod all rain up this way
