Oh well did my 600 miles trip, beside the refurbished injector I replaced already failed...
Now I hear a very strange like helicopter sound from the front. Applying the brakes seems to make it fade but...
Like a low freq sound of helicopter in those american end of world movie trailers...
Could this be IRD or brakes?
Thanks
Paul

Are the brakes sticking? It's not uncommon for the pads to bind in the calipers, or the slide pins to seize.

Hi John I hope they do. Emergency was with that injector as I have no idea for how long I was going in 3cyl only realised lumpy idle when I exited the highway at traffic light. Seems alright now with old one, returning this one.
Can anything in this world cause an refurbished injector to fail in 700 miles? Or 500 no idea. I suspect a rubbish job may have been done.
Thanks
Paul

I think is that rusty round part of the wheel being the disc, not sure how is called. It's falling apart prob need some replacing but it looks like it comes with the whole knuckle...

You mean the Brake Disc Stone Shield. Either bend it back or rip it off.

Very rusty, bend out of the question. I will rip it off and take my chances on them stones. Poor intentional choice of materials.

then you have to take the hub apart to get it on and as it is not part of the MOT you will be ok my wife's car has not had any on for a few years.

I could not believe it, but it was the tyre making all this noise. Sounded very metallic to be honest.
Back to warranty with it, these are BF Goodrich Urban Terrain piece of crap which lasted 2000 miles. Two out of 5 are already kaputt and I just drive to work 6 miles a day with this thing.

Thanks Nodge will prob seek refund. How about the toyo open country? I am very undecided between these two, geolandars are heavy to be honest for the 1.8

That's it will get ze geolandars. These ones have very good thread, just they get oval quickly making me shopping for wheels hubs, knuckles and so on scared by what could it be.

The standard 215/65/16 are currently about £73 each on Black Circles. ;)

Yes but I currently have 215/70/16 and I am even thinking to expand to 225/70/16 if it's not rubbing anything. Seems to be enough room around there...
Bit taller tyres always make this car look good. Scrapped 3 freelanders and kept the tyres.

Expanding to 225/70/R16 will make your tyres wider, not taller. 215/80/R16 if you want taller. Not sure if that's an available size on the Geolanders, though. :)
