When driving at and turning left I'm getting rubbing noise from the near side front wheel, it goes when driving in a straight line and doesn't happen when reversing or like today when it's wet!

Any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks:)

Could be tyres, check the outer edge for feathering, run your hand around the outer edge of the tread in one direction, then repeat in the other direction and feel for raised edges.
If it has steps then swap the front wheels over so they reverse direction and wear back level again.
I had a similar issue and this sorted it.

Will be doing tomorrow Mr K, although there's no feathering on the outer edge of the tyres I can find. The noise has disappeared as it's been wet though.

Ok, the fact that it is ok when wet has to say it is tyres, I have had loads of noises all resulted in tyres, I had a new rear diff fitted due to a whining tyres, noisy cornering due to feather tyres, never had a car like it.

Have you looked at the brake disks to make sure they arnt warped had this happen on a rover 825 rubbing noise when dry but went when wet.

Well I've tried swapping the wheels over and checked the front discs for warpage - all ok but still a rubbing noise. So am now thinking it might be suspension related as it only happens when turning at speed and the suspension on is under load.

It's due for a service, so will ask the garage to have a look
