Hi Everyone I have a 1998 RR 2.5dse with a strange problem my hevac screen lights up but the screen is blank and none of the buttons on it will work I.e heated seats, heated screen etc I no the unit is in fully working order tho as I tried it in my brothers p38 and I also tried his in my car anyone got any ideas

Worked fine when I plugged it in my brothers and when it's plugged in mine all that happens is the screen lights up but it's completely blank I've checked the fuses and they all seem fine so I'm stuck really

Yeah it works perfect in my bros car and his does exactly the same when it's plugged in mine just lights up but the screens blank an none of the buttons will work or light up. I was hoping to use diagnostics as a last resort

Did you check all the wires on the connector block give em a wiggle while the units plugged in if not you can check the button and feeds in the diagnostics

Hevac has three power feeds. Up to MY 99. Fuse 42, 10 amp. Fuse 17, 10 amp. Fuse 8, 30 amp. MY1999 and on fuse 42, 10 amp. Fuse 35, 10 amp. Fuse 8, 30 amp.

Ohh right didn't no that just assumed it would be the same power source for it all il have to try an look into the power

So I've checked the fuses and checked for power at them and there is so I'm stumped I did have a thought did the previous owner try upgrading it from a manual hevac unit to the digital one so did LR put the manual one in a 98 RR ?

They did on the bottom of the range ones without ac
But would be unlikely he swoped it as there's tons of work with fiting blend motors flaps ect...
I still think you have a power feed issue

Oh right was just a thought didn't realise it would be so much work so your probably right about being a power issue I'm at a loose end with it lol
