Alright guys my middle box was knackered on my disco so cut it off and put a pipe on. No cat no back box no middle box.. but I hate to say it its 2 loud lol. Can I put just a back box on? Or any other silencer fit i.e motorcycle silencer ect. Any help much appreciated

I have a poxy aftermarket back box on my 300 with nothing else in between the lump and the air and it sounds lovely and rorty when the foot is down but very civilised (well as much as a 19 year old disco diesel can ) when just pootling about.

just bang whatever you can get your hands on cheap on there it should quieten it down just enough to keep the neighbours happy when setting off, it will always be loud when under load though, coz they just are.

Yer I have a 'Sport' system on mine and its just a backbox and its pretty quite (better than when the middlebox was blowing :D)

i did start it up with just the downpipe on and it was horrendous :D sounded like a banger racer :D

Cool so either just get a standard back box orsomethin tha will fifit tthe pipe lol

yeah anything that will fit the pipe and is oval, the oval bit is because you want to keep it tucked up under the arse of the Landy and not protruding down so far that it will get ripped off when you get near the muddy stuff.

I don't have a front cat and have removed my rear silencer altogether with a side exit.

I never noticed any difference when I took off my back silencer reagrding noise - certainly not any noticeable increase, but like you noticed a lot when I took out the middle silencer, so have replaced the pipe with a scentre silencer from a 200 I found in a scrappy ;)

Back to a nice sound again.

I've been thinking about a side exit pipe but was worried that replacing the middle box and removing the backbox would increase the noise too much. Nice to know there's not much difference.

I have a straight through pipe on my 200 90 with just a Disco back box on, it's disappointingly quiet:(:)
