I’ve just replaced the front end suspension air bags on my stolen recovered L322, and it now goes up and down as expected. However, I took it on a 5 mile drive through country lanes and I’m unsure on the ride quality, the car doesn’t feel planted to the road and a little unsettled. It doesn’t feel unsafe but there is a fair bit of body roll.

Now just to put things into context, my daily drive is a Porsche 718 GTS, so I’m used to feeling every bump in the road and the grip is obviously phenomenal. I can go around any corner at any speed.

Likewise, the L322 isn’t my first Range Rover, I had a P38 around 20 years ago, but I can’t remember how it handled or drove.

Don’t get me wrong the L322 is a comfortable ride and absorbs every deviation in the road, so I might be being over critical, but should it feel that floaty (for want of a better word!) when going around bends?

I said when I first got the Golden Girl that she seemed to wallow on bends. At some point I got used to it. However before that I had her back and forwards to the garage trying to work out why. I will add that before the L322 almost all my personal vehicles had been designed for hard, fast, driving and planted themselves on the ground. The L322 is a world away from type of positioning. If it's more than just 'wallowing' on bends then perhqps as Mark suggested a closer look at the shock absorbers/tracking is needed.
 
Have the correct dampers been fitted? and if necessary the anti-resonance weights?
You don't mention the MY or drivetrain spec. but firstly check all the parts fitted are correct, slacken the lower arm fixings and re-torque with the vehicle at normal ride height, not hanging off a lift (as is most likely), check all the road wheels for roundness & runout, same for the tyres - including check for correct pressure, then carry out a four wheel alignment.
Additionally, if ARC equipped, check for DTC's and correct live values for the three 'g' sensors, also check the steering angle sensor is set correctly.

I'm guessing that it wasn't stolen from you prior to it's recovery as you don't seem aware of how it should drive.
 
Problem solved, I just gave the keys to my Nephew who is a fleet mechanic for a local firm that has a number of Land Rovers in their inventory.

He confirmed the ride is exactly as it should be.

It looks like I’m just too used to the harsh ride in the Porsche.

Can’t lie, I took the L322 out today for a much longer road test and the drive was superb. Everything from the Stereo to the cabin noise and the silky smooth shift up through the gears is a complete contrast to the Porsche.
 
We get porkers in at work, I don't enjoy having to test drive them at all - seem to be a lot worse since Audi got involved.
 
It’s a phenomenal drive and because it’s a naturally aspirated flat 6 the drama at 3k revs and upwards is something to be experienced.

I bought it new as a daily drive, but to be honest going anywhere on the motorway is a nightmare. I actually put noise cancelling earphones in to cut out the incessant drone!
 
I've done the factory training with Porsche & AMG (amongst others), including the track drive elements - Interesting that you call the bit where the car tries to kill you 'drama' ;)

I'm more than happy with my 5.0l SC - unlike most of the 'fast' but average cars that it leaves behind...
