Hi all,

New to Landy Zone and sadly I have to report my Landy has been STOLEN! Between 15:00 and 2308hrs 27th August 2012 bank holiday monday.

It was lifted from its parking space outside my flat as the mud on the ground did not have tyre marks through it, no broken glass or loud engine starting noises because no neighbours have yet reported anything although today I dropped 100 leaflets to all my neighbours!

I have reported the theft to the Police crime reference is RM/12/4414.

Apart from having a tracker I cannot help but feel they would have got the car regardless!!

If anyone hears anything I would be very grateful for some feedback. My number is 07867 892264.

Some images of my car can be found on my blog Land Rover Off Roading Blog

Nope and I wouldn't hesitate on putting one on it now if I still had it! :( I highly recommend other owners do, these thieves are not afraid and have all the tools to take these cars in no time or noise!

I'm sorry to hear that mate. Did you have any other deterrents in the car? ClutchClaw/Stoplock etc?

I only bought myself a GPS tracker unit yesterday and happy I did. Family lives in the Surrey area so will keep an eye out when I head down from London at the weekend.

No, no real deterrents as sadly didn't have the crook lock on the steering wheel. I live in the middle of a housing estate (not council) with lots of houses surrounding so likelihood of a theft was...well....low! I thought! Truly Gutted.

Sad to hear this buddy, they truly are scum and think nothing of the people it affects.

You may be best not putting your phone number on an open forum as people can send you a PM on here if they need to get in touch.

Everything is crossed for you ... please post any further developments as we all genuinely care on here :(

Hi guys, thanks for the messages.

Today the Surrey Herald called me having seen the post on here!! I've posted in everywhere twitter, facebook, my blog Land Rover Off Roading Blog but Landy Zone caught their eye! The Police will give me a statement from the press officer so they can write an article about it and I have had a few people contact me now from my neighbourhood who I leafleted and pals on facebook saying theyve seen other suspicious actively in the local area which ive asked them to report too, including a brand new Bentley Continetal GT being loaded on the back on a flat bed truck after they removed a 10 year old Honda from the back of it....hmmmm!! Also found out my neighbour is a secret copper so she's been really helpful....

I'm still not that hopeful of getting her back sadly but if i can help others not be in my situation then I will feel much better!

Will post more when/if there are any developments.

Here is the leaflet:

SurreySam,

Very sad to hear about your Landie, Im just down the road from you. When I bought mine last year I had no idea how sort after they were and this site has definitely opened my eyes!

Your leaflets are working....4 people have sent me txts or pictures regarding the theft to be careful.

Well done in your efforts and wish the best of luck getting her back.

Will keep me eyes peeled as I too am local!

In Jan2011 my classic was taken, the plod found it buried up to its axles in mud on a farm in Lightwater hitched to a trailer filled with riding tackle.

Wish you luck, and will put you poster up in the local newsagents if they'll let me.

I am local so I will have a look and tell other people have u put it on landywatch
