As the title says im still in Russia but not for long as my visa runs out soon and I have a problem which I will have to fix in Kazakhstan as I cant get the parts here in time.
I lost power and the found that the turbo had a foreign object like a small bolt in it and sheared the turbine blades . how it got in is a mystery as the last time it was exposed was when i did the timing chains about 30000 miles ago and also don't recognize where the bolt belongs.
Oh well im down on power but will get to Kazakhstan and sort it out there I may have to get some parts or even a new turbo from the UK but i will have to get an adress there to send them to or try and find one off of somthing else that will fit.
Also I had a radiator hose that when pressurized must have swollen and the fan blades were rubbing it and got a massive leak but i was carrying a new hose so that one is fixed.
We are in Samara and the weather is about 30 C and sunny.

Wow, you really are doing the grand tour! Last time I was in Samara was December - there were 8 inches of snow overnight, and was about minus 15. We get proper seasons in Russia.

Couple of things worth seeing while you're in town are Stalin's bunker and the Cosmos museum. Not many outsiders realise Samara was the second city of the USSR, and until fairly recently was closed to foreigners due to it being a key industrial town and centre for space research.

Mind the potholes!

Buy TD04-11G-4 turbo from BMW/Opel, replace compressor housing with yours, fit to your engine and it wil probably be ok.
