Get a LUK 3 piece clutch kit, which is what the factory fitted when the vehicle was built.
The DMF is generally pretty long lived on these engines, as the balancer shafts help reduce crankshaft vibrations to a minimum.
Generally the DMF will last 2 clutches, which would normally be about 200k miles.

Right then that's the one I'll go for. That should definitely (hopefully cure the problem of stiff gears). My brother said when he put the car in neutral & switched the engine of he could feel the gear stick give abit of movement back & forth just as it was shutting down. But I'll get the set of 3 then arrange fitting asap. Thank again nodge.

Hi. Sorry I haven't posted update on my gear problem but I had other ongoing issues with the freelander. However I did take all your advice & got the new clutch kit as recommended. It took weeks of waiting to get her done because I missed 2 alloted bookings due to covid so was put to the back of the list. The gears etc are fine now & I'd like to thank everyone who gave me advice. Rob
