Hello all, I'm a bit stuck on this, any ideas please.
whilst driving my L reg 300tdi disco in traffic it became imposable to select or change gears or even take it out of gear whilst the motor was running.
I took the box out and fitted a new clutch fork, slippers and plastic clip that holds the release bearing to the fork. (nothing wrong with the old fork)
still the same problem clutch drag as I now know it's called.
I fitted a new master /slave cylinder and the damper. I treated myself to an easybleed kit to make sure all the air was out....... still the same problem.
I removed the gearbox again, and found the fingers on the pressure plate uneven so I fitted a new pressure plate / clutch disk and thrust bearing.
The clutch pedal feels perfect but still the drag.
so I ask myself did i put the clutch disk in back to front? I did double check and it was marked flywheel side.
There are no strange noises, the spigot bearing felt smooth and round, I cant see any end float in the crankshaft.
Any advise
Cheers
