hi , forgive me but DON'T listen to anyone who RECOMENDS WD40
on wiring to a p38 !!!!!!!!! for gods sake it tells you in the name WD water ?????
right heres the gist its been covered many times before and I can absolutely guarantee it works !!!!! open tailgate down , remove carpet trim , this reveals back of button , this strips downt to 4 parts , undo the connector clean and spray with electrical contact spray e.c.c. . dry , remove coiled spring clean completely with wire wool ,lightly grease with Vaseline , then clean out inside of button and receptor and lightly grease with Vaseline re-assemble all back together , re-fit carpet and job done , this will now ensure boot opens easily and also stops main doors buttons going up and down whilst driving ,,, also as the boot is directly fed from drivers door actuator it may be prudent to remove driver door card off and clean actuator and microswitches and use e.c.c. on them too ,,,
'',....FURTHER NOTE , wd40 is an abbreviation of water displacement it is an oil based protective to stop moisture and damp penetrating , so its like once the horse has bolted . its no good sraying wiring once there already damp ,, all your doing is keeping the damp in !!!!!!! so basically if your going to use it then use it on brand new wiring !!!!! hope ive explained this easily enough for everyone ,, kind regards MOZZ
